A Decision
October 9, 2002
Let my table be lonesome,
so that my salutations will be
aquired through quietness and
mindful of gleaming silence,
and away goes the acute, barren
neurosis of meaningless talk.
To be there in full solidity,
as one, admiring, eases respect
for the other. Attention will
never veer from the place I
continue to sit, but other realities
will rise too clean and be well-kept.

Hey Jarrod, Heard you read some of your stuff, and I liked it. I'm one of the editors of IMPACT Magazine, an online mag targeted to LGBT people of faith, and we have a "Soul Food" section devoted to poetry and short stories. I'd love to repost your "A Decision" and "You make me Proud". Poetry, as you know well, is a hit and miss thing with readers. But I like to keep putting fresh stuff out, because you never know when it'll strike someone just at the right moment.

Thank you so much, Mr. Schmidt, for taking the time to view my blog, as well as my poetry, and I will certainly take the opportunity to visit the IMPACT website. Again, thank you.
